After 13 years in the NFL, Olin Kreutz says he is leaning toward retiring from football after negotiations with the Chicago Bears fell through this weekend in sudden and dramatic fashion.
“I feel pretty close (to retiring),” Kreutz told ESPNChicago.com by phone Sunday night. “I don’t know if I could go somewhere and play for someone else. It has always been about the Bears, I’ve always chosen them and I just don’t know if I could do it for someone else.”

This guy is old school, a true leader. The Bears decided not to sign him because he wanted a measly $500K more than they wanted to pay.

Looking Back on the Chicago Bears 2011 →

dont-bs-me-bro:

With football starting up again — thank God — it should be fun to revisit A Quick Rant About the State of the Chicago Bears 2011, my post-season wrap from a few months ago, which is mostly about the horror show that is the Bears’ leadership team: Mike McCaskey, Ted Phillips, Jerry Angelo, and…

Want to see the Vikings play on Monday night? Grab a shovel. →

Hmm. Let’s assume that Vikings ownership is not clinically insane, just for grins.

Still seems like a really stupid idea. What if nobody shows up? Also, are disgusted fans for a team that (a) sucks this year and (b) just fired its head coach really going to be all “yay, let’s go shovel somebody else’s snow!” in 5°F weather? I’m thinking people in Minnesota might already have enough to do without adding this to the pile. Call me crazy!

The Minnesota Vikings are asking their fans to help dig out Gopher Stadium for the team’s game v. Chicago on Monday night. The region was recently hit with a massive snowstorm, which left the Metrodome left in shambles.

How much do you think Zygi Wilf actually cares about his fans when he’s asking them to dig out a damn stadium, as opposed to hiring enough trained laborers to get the job done with his millions of dollars? It will take some real dedicated fans to get out there and start digging - at least he told them five days in advance, right?

QB gets haircut that says “O-line” on one side of his head, and the numbers of five offensive linemen on the other:  QB inspires team to NYC title with special haircut tribute
Quote from QB Marvin Centeno: “I just did it to show them how I feel about them. I’m very close to those guys, and I wanted to do something for them. They’ve been protecting me all season so this was my way of telling them thanks.”
If you’re an O-line guy, how damn inspiring is that?
Well done, sir. Well done.

Dear Kurt Warner:

Please come back.  I’ll buy you a smaller helmet to wear inside your regular helmet and will also bake a cake for you and Jesus.

Wow … that’s quite a vote of confidence from the coach, there. In other words: “we don’t like this guy — he sucks, frankly — but we’re stuck with him for now”.
